Has anyone ever changed Felco pruner blades?

Subject says it all. The blades appear to be held in place with pins.
It appears that the pruners must be disassembled to get at all of the
pins.

This link

will take you to a Flash or no-Flash page with instructions on how to
change the blades.

Its very easy, you simply undo the nuts with the tool that came with
your Felco's and dissasemble. Good idea to give them a good clean over
as well while your at it. I use a light washing detergent (washing up
liquid) and a coarse scrubber with hot water to remove dried sap etc..
Then just oil, grease the mechanism (a light machine grease does fine)
and reassemble with new blade..

Pitch and gum come off with any strong alkalai cleaner. Amonia, washing
soda, oven cleaner etc. Just limit exposure to the aluminum handles as
it also will erode them. The most important part to oil when everything
is clean and dry is the spring because if it sticks compressed it falls
out and gets lost.
A dab of vaseline works as well as any lubricant on the other sliding
parts.
