new grass growth vs weed control

this past fall I killed out, thatched, then power seeded half my yard that was overrun with weeds. The remaining part of my yard was just over seeded and thatched. I am curious best approach for fertilizer this spring. Should I just put down fertilizer with weed control on entire yard?
