Default Seed for a slightly shaded area - Which do i buy?

Hi

We have a relatively small back lawn area, part is in full sun for most of the day a small section gets very little sun and is shaded by a 6ft fence. The shaded area never grows too well always looking a bit thin. What can i do? Do i need to re-seed the shaded area or can i avoid doing this somehow.

Many thanks

Duncan
