Default Homelite HB100 leaf blower won't run

My Homelite HB100 leaf blower won't run. It gets gas and the plug sparks
when removed and held to the motor. Not sure about the compression. It
does not seem to have a reed valve. My owners manual did not include a
parts list or diagram. If anybody knows of a good internet site or has this
information as an attachment I would be very appreciatiave.
Thanks !
My leafs are un checked in TN.

nope on the web site but my experiences with homelite are not good. always
hard to get parts for (at least for me) You can check the following
1 with the sparkplug removed take a flashlight and look into the cylinder
make sure piston is at bottom dead center and look on the cylinder walls for
scoring, if you see scoring the cost to fix will be high you may want to
exchange it. If you cant see through the spark plug hole you can also remove
muffler to check cylinder, this is also a good time to make sure the exhaust
is not plugged up.

2 make sure the gas is fresh old gas wont burn and unit wont run, rule of
thumbs if gas is over 30 days old from when you bought it get new gas and
start over. if you do have old gas drain it from unit and re try. you may be
lucky enough to get it going with out taking the carb apart.

3. the old plug sparks when against the motor test only tell you it has some
spark not whether or not the spark is strong enough. get a proper tester
from a local shop they are not very expensive and they take the guess work
out. In a pinch one may make a tester by breaking off the tip from a old
plug to increase the gap it has to jump it will be somewhat better test then
just seeing if it will jump 0.025" or so from a normal plug. also for the
cost of a spark plug if any doubt about it replace it.

Reply below is good advice, for a quick compression test take plug out and
hold finger on spark plug hole ( be sure to turn ignition switch off or you
may get lit up :-)

Pull the rope and it should blow your finger off the hole.
