Default Transplanting Flowers

I know now is not the time to be moving flowers, but it is move them or they will be crushed under a backhoe. Just two types, peonies (already finished blooming) and cone flowers (still in bloom).

What are the chances they will survive a mid-July transplant?

Thanks for info/advice.

peonies:

remove most of the foliage other than one or
two of the youngest leaves and mulch it to hold
in moisture, but don't smother it so it rots.

cone flower:

deep tap rooted plant. better to just replant
new from seed in new location, but if you want to
try take the entire root down as deep as you can
go. this is gonna be a deep hole for some plants...
again, remove most of the foliage/top.

water them well when done moving.
