throttle return spring for carburetor
Lawnmower carburetor throttle linkage. The part in question is silver
in color. It has a spring that wraps around the throttle control linkage and then it has a long thin wire that runs parallel to the linkage . It is very thin and weak and seems to have no purpose? I assume that it is actually only one part with one part number as it seems to be a unit? But i am not at all sure. What is this spring device used for? can i do without it. Mine seems to have the tip broken off because it is not hooked shaped at the end whereby it might attach somewhere? can you tell me what this return spring does . can I buy a new one without the whole carb? This is for a 12 HP briggs engine. |

While usually viewed as a 'nuisance, it helps to prevent over-revving and (when working properly) can hold a steady rpm while the load varies. I'd stop by a BS dealer and check the Parts Diagrams for precise identification. (¯`·._.· £ãrrÿ ·._.·´¯) |

Find the engine model no first and then look for your part at the BS site. http://shop.briggsandstratton.com/BS...6-00B0D0203414 |
