Default Deer repellent study

I found this article online. A very extensive study of protecting nut
trees in Illinois from deer damage.

http://www.walnutcouncil.org/deer_repellent_study.htm

Dial soap, drilled and hung, worked well. One bar/tree.

Thanks.

For the first time in 26 years we are having deer problems in Cary.
What is so weird is that when we move in we were on the edge of Cary
with a lot of wooded areas left. Now we are surrounded by housing and
the Cary Parkway is 4 lanes. (It was 2 lanes and 2 blocks long and
dead ended in two directions back then).

A deer or two must have found the greenway and are using the yards like
a salad bar. I have only seen single tracks.

The sprays are expensive. I think I will go the dial soap route. And
continue to use what ever spray I have left.
