I buy and mix up a grass killer called "over the top". I could be wrong,
but I thik it is made by Ferti-lome. You spray it on (carefully so as to not get it on your good grass), and set back for 10 days to two weeks and wait for the results. Once you get the existing grass either killed, or all pulled out, you
can keep new grass from sprouting with corn gluten. Organic anti-sprouting granules. Several local garden places sell it. Works pretty well. It will keep ALL seeds from sprouting for a few months, however, not just grass. But it does wipe out 90% of all the new grass in our flower beds. Organic too in case you want to use around vegetables. blumby wrote: Thanks Dwayne..i know i can get that at the local coop and i'm ready to try anything! Could you let us know which garden centers are likely to have
the corn gluten. I admit I haven't really looked, but I've also never run across it when I've looked for or asked about pre-emergents. TIA, dot wrote in message ups.com... You're right. Thanks for the reminder on that. Family Home and Garden
is just west of the State surplus complex . Anyone looking for corn gluten there probably should call first. They don't always have it. Daniel B. Martin wrote: wrote: Family Home and Garden Supply on Hillsborough St between Raleigh and Cary, has corn gluten. http://www.familyhomeandgarden.com/ A word of caution: the store hasn't moved but it is no longer accessible from Hillsborough Street. The new entrance is off Chapel Hill Road (NC54), just east of the I40 interchange. http://maps.yahoo.com/py/maps.py?Pyt...%A0Map=Get+Map Daniel B. Martin |
