Eggling
hey guys! i just moved into an apartment of my own and bought a plant
in an egg called "eggling" from urban outfitters and i grow petunia's from the seed in it. yesterday the petunia just started strouting from the dirt. i keep it in front of a window in my kitchen but since i am young and have never grown anything in my life and the only directions that came with eggling were how to get it started (you have to crack the egg yourself) but does not tell me how to care for my petunia i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? or special care that i should know about? i don't want to kill my very first plant |

Eggling
Hi! Congrats on the new plant.
The Eggling should have come with some soil or "peat" for the seed to grow in. Just keep the soil moist (check every few days, especially if the Eggling is in direct sun for most of the day). Once the seedling has turned into a plant, you'll want to consider getting a larger pot for the plant so it can grow larger. The pot doesn't have to be huge. Just a few inches wider and taller than the Eggling. The plant's roots can spread out in a bigger pot, so the plant will get bigger. So, you'll need a small bag of potting soil to fill the larger pot. You can find potting soil in Lowes or Home Depot, or even Kmart, Walmart and Target. A lot of indoor plant potting soil comes with fertilizer already mixed in. That will help your plant because fertilizer is plant food. That's really it. Good luck! gbaby8 wrote: hey guys! i just moved into an apartment of my own and bought a plant in an egg called "eggling" from urban outfitters and i grow petunia's from the seed in it. yesterday the petunia just started strouting from the dirt. i keep it in front of a window in my kitchen but since i am young and have never grown anything in my life and the only directions that came with eggling were how to get it started (you have to crack the egg yourself) but does not tell me how to care for my petunia i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? or special care that i should know about? i don't want to kill my very first plant |
