Which darn catalog?

One of the fancy catalogs I get in late winter or spring has a lavender
miniature trailing ROSE, which they sell with or without a hanging basket
for a pretty fancy price. I thought I had put the catalog aside for future
ordering but can't find it.

I can't even remember which catalog it was in wah! but have decided I
REALLY want trailing lavender roses in my four front-porch hanging baskets.
The fancy rose garden shop in Durham off 15-501 said they didn't have
anything anywhere near like that, so trailing lavender roses must be an
exclusive to the catalog.

Has anyone noticed this in a catalog, who can let me know which catalog, and
item number and 8or ordering? I'll be happy to reciprocate by letting you
come over this July to pick organic blueberries!

Ever since Angel Face came out (long LONG time ago), lavender is my favorite
for roses....

Thanks to any who can help,

Spring Hill has one.

If that is it, I will be happy to pick some of your blueberries this
July. :)

Emily,

Thanks! I just discovered it is also listed under the name Sweet Chariot; I
found lots of sources. Despite their denial that they had a lavender
suitable for hanging baskets, Witherspoon has it too.

Bring containers when you come in July, the bushes are COVERED in blooms!

If you want to go mail order, I just got some *beautiful* miniatures
from Nor'east Miniatures two weeks ago. Three out of the four that I
ordered were sporting buds when they arrived.

Hi Susan,

Thanks for the info! What size pot do Nor'east Miniatures send minis in? I
see a lot of the mail-order minis are sent in 3x3 pots, but apparently some
are raised in 3x3x6 (tree pots) which allow for much better root
development, and others are 3x3x4.

How tall and wide were your plants? I want to plant mine in some 12"
hanging pots I use for the front porch. Don't know if I should get two per
pot (if they are small) or one....

Can't remember to be honest. I know that the pots were on the small
size but the roses are doing terrifically. Slit the root ball or gently
open it up some before you plant them and this will encourage new root
growth.

Only get one. Roses grow and usually rather quickly. Two would be way
too much for the pot at full size. You may want to verify that these
minis will survive in a pot that size long term. Minis have the same
light requirements as full size roses. Do you get at least 6 hours of
direct light on your porch or, at least on the spot where the baskets
would hang?

I'm another purple / lavendar / mauve fan and a major rose lover. I
have two Blue Girl rose bushes in my front yard that tend to bloom
lavendar. (Purple is also the major accent colour inside my house.
*grin*)
