Default Cucumbers

I have one plant out of 4 that has turned brown and is not doing well.
Can I start another one or is it too late / too hot now?

Try it; there's not much to lose. You may compensate for the weather
by using a fabric row cover for partial shade and giving extra water, as
needed.

Thanks for the response, that is kind of what I was thinking. I just
wonder what happened to it and hope it doesn't spread
