Snake caught!
Not sure where to put a picture since I don't have a web site right now, but
if anyone wants to see the snake I was complaining about, I caught it twice today, once on camera noshing on MY eggs (which is what I was complaining about, I have customers waiting for baby chicks, and can't spare the eggs) and the second time close up in person. I can't afford lost income from chicks. It was a bit over 3 ft long. Black Rat Snake. Could not afford a snake trap or snake catcher, and then turned out to be one myself! (Proof of what one can do without taking time to think before reacting.) Usually I encourage nonpoisonous snakes, but given the number of missing eggs per day, there must be more than one LARGE snake eating at the Colorsplash Poultry house! The picture of the egg-eating turned out surprisingly well, considering how my heart was pounding (I usually just reach in and grab the eggs without looking!) Let me know where I can post it (does this list have a web page?) or email me and I will email you the picture. laurie (Mother Mastiff) |
