Default pond plant at Duke gardens

Does anyone happen to know what that interesting looking pond plant in the
Duke gardens is? It's the one with those huge platter leaves and that is
covered in what looks like spikes. It actually looks somewhat scary, but in
that really fascinating sort of way.
