"Mark Fernandes, Vice President of Luck Stone's Design Recreation
Division, said the company's decision to close its Apex Stone Center
and move staff and inventory to Wake Forest was made after careful
consideration. "We determined that reallocating our resources through
consolidation would strengthen our ability to provide leading edge
products and services to our customers," he explained. Much of the
expansion at Wake Forest is visible outside of the building in an
improved yard layout. "The purchase of the Southern States building
has allowed us to stock a lot more inventory outside and to keep much
of it under cover," Fernandes added, "which is very important to our
customers."

Well, Luck Stone just lost our COMMERCIAL business. There is NO WAY that we
can afford, nor will be going to Wake Forest for our aggregate needs...and
we won't be calling for pricing on deliveries to Cary/Apex either.

What a shame...and how upsetting.

So is the Southern States already gone? Or are they moving too?

The press release indicated that Luck Stone bought the building, not
Southern States itself.

Right - so my question (rephrased) is:

Is there still a location of Southern States in Wake Forest on US 1, or will Luck
Stone be occupying that space - and if so, how soon? (I'd certainly want to shop
there if they're going to be moving soon.)

OK. Sorry for the confusion. I live near LuckStone in Apex so I don't
know much about the new location or Southern States in Wake Forest.
However I did find the following:

There's one on 55 near RTP that has been expanding.

Stone Center of the Carolina's is on Hwy. 55 toward RTP. I think it's in
Morrisville. They are located on the right side as you near RTP.
