baking salvia?
I just planted some salvia in full, full sun (well, last weekend). The
leaves have been starting to look crispy and brownish -- is this sun sickness or what? The other plants (verbana, tritoma) look ok, they certainly had plenty of water over the weekend, and have had some hand-delivered water during the week. Thanks Arwen |

If they were grown under low light, then moved to full sun, the leaves probably are cooked. The Salvias should be able send out new leaves, which will adapt to the new light conditions. What species did you plant? Some are better at handling full sun than others. For notes on growing Salvias locally and some photos, see my site: http://www.duke.edu/~cwcook/salvia.html Will |
