Default bamboo groves?

Hi

I really love bamboo. I've learned enough about it to think I can
grow it under good control. Even bought some unusual varieties from a
place in Virginia a couple of weeks ago, but it was expensive, and I'd
like to add a couple of local wild-growing (cheap varieties as
well.

Anyone know of some bamboo groves within 15 miles of the
Durham/SouthPoint area that I could raid for a few shoots to
transplant (and maybe even a couple of nice big culms for decorating
indoors)?

Thanks,

David
