Default Bulbophyllum hamatipes - cute bowlegged yellow species

This species, like the B. affine earlier, is in section Sestochilus. The
most famous Sestochilus Bullbo is B. lobbii.

Grown by Petite Plaisance

Delightful trio of Bulbophyllums. How big is this one? Where did you
find the aff. mastersianum? I have seen a pink that looked like that
but never a yellow.

Thanks for the tour. I hope Ron was with you in the country. He took
one of our volunteers for a hike the foothills here but the snow was
still too low for things to be in bloom.

Sue,

The B. hamatipes is on the small side - about an inch top to bottom on the
biggest flower. But the clear yellow color and sweet scent make up for it.
It's a shy bloomer - don't know why.

The B. aff. mastersianum came from Tom Perlite.

Yup - the Mt. Tam State Park walk was led by Ron - it was for the Diablo
View Orchid Society - those photos are on my site if you're interested. It
was a gorgeous morning - wet and misty and really pretty.
