Cypripedium calceolus var parviflorum - 2 photos
Just returned from a great trip to Toronto, Niagara Falls area and San
Francisco/Sacramento. I was looking forward to seeing some native Canadian species in flower and managed to find these ones. I believe they are Cypripedium calceolus var parviflorum but welcome correct ID. These were growing in a garden on a property located on the outskirts of Toronto. They had been rescued from a development site. They were truly beautiful and I am surprised that we don't see more photos of the native Nth American species posted here. Come on you Americans and Canadians, get into the forests/fields/swamps and photograph some of your beautiful species. More photos from the trip to follow once I get over my jetlag. Cheers John |
