A great new find for us was this colony of King Greenhoods (Pterostylis
baptistii). John V will agree they were a great find. The flowers measure
5x5cm (2x2 in), which the photos don't really do justice to.

This species is rare in my state and this colony is possibly the farthest
known.

Another shot of the colony we found. This one shows how well they blend in
with the surrounds.

Pterostylis baptistii has got to be the largest of the greenhoods. A really
majestic flower. Unfortunately, it had rained very heavily 2 days before we
found them (170 cm in 24 hours) and many flowers were knocked over but there
were still enough standing to make a very impressive sight.

One of the flowers of Pterostylis baptistii. The photo does not do it
justice. As Reiner mentioned it is about 5 x 5cm (2 x 2 in).

This was the highlight of the weekend. Reiner failed to mention that he was
the one that discovered this colony.

Well spotted.

I like the fact that you have told us the size of these Reiner, as I
have thought them to be much smaller.
Keep up the good work.
Cheers Wendy

John & Reiner take us on another bush walk! Thanks, guys, and congrats on
finding the new plants, too.

Thanks Wendy, normally the greenhoods ARE much smaller, that's what make
this species so cool to find. I was thinking later perhaps I should have
taken a photo with my hand behind or something like that.
