To answer my own post, obviously I am still out here in Australia using
Bigpond to access the group whilst I get my newsgroup server running.

Kye, the thought just occurred to me that you may want to try posting on
rec.gardens.orchids, as most of
our group still text post there.
Cheers Wendy

THere is the users thing but I have always liked to see who is out there and
where they get the group from.

THe server load is not that big a drama (assuming that I can ever get it
working) as once it is working I will be transferring it all into the same
Data Center as I have my other servers in.

Yours Sincerely

Still accessing this group, but mostly for the convo.
I'm in the US and using AT&T and Time Warner Business class for
internet access.
However, actual access is via the motzarella.org news servers
in Germany.

Gary Wills from South Carolina, USA. My ISP is bellsouth but I'm accessing usenet through gardenbanter.co.uk until things settle down.
I think what Wendy meant is that you're not even going to reach most of those waiting for your request unless you post it to rec.gardens.orchids as most are not using alternates.
Thanks for your help.
