Effective immediately, there is a new mailing list for orchid
photographs.

To subscribe do one of the following:
1. Send an email to with the
word "subscribe" as the subject
2. Go to
http://www.firstrays.com, select the "Free Services" link,
and their you'll find a simple subscription manager.
3. Visit http://www.freelists.org/list/orchidphotos and do the same
from there.

I do have a request: before we publicize this further, can we
experiment with a few posts to see if it's configured properly?

Also, can someone tell me how to embed a photo IN an email, rather than
attaching it?

I'll be there soon, and we'll keep it quiet until you say the word. *If* you say the word.

When I want to send a photo imbedded in an email, I go to the Insert menu. From there, browse for the photo you want. You need to be writing in rich text to do that.

If you copy the photofile and paste it in your email, the email received has message and photo links listed which open when clicked and stay open together like a newsgroup post. Send yourself a test to see if this is what you mean. I don't think you need rich text for this and it's almost as easy. I'm using Outlook.

Hi Ray,

I think I am subscribed, but I cannot seem to login from the web page to see the archive. I've used the original authorization code and my newly created password to no avail. I've written to the list organizer as well. Any suggestions?

Paul, I am the organizer, I have not gotten anything from you via email,
but I did receive a notice that you subscribed. There is no login at
the freelists.org website for other than list administrators or owners
(I am both).

You should start getting emails from the listserve shortly.
