Keiki's ?

My phal 'Happy Girl' had 2 spikes which I cut back after flowering,
both threw up a keiki. One now has 3 leaves the other only 1, about 2"
long, neither yet has any roots. Is the lonely leaf likely to develop
any more ?

John,
Yes, both of the keikis are likely to continue developing at their own
speed -- keikis of different phals develop at different speeds, and it might
take a while, so be patient. Don't separate the keikis before they have
several roots of at least 4 inches total length -- but you may want to leave
the keikis on the mother plant for longer, as long as both keiki and mother
plant are healthy, there is no need to separate them.
Enjoy,
Joanna (who is off to take another look at her phal equestris keiki now)
