paphs v. phrags
Hi everyone! How do paphs and phrags compare as to cultivation? I'm
wondering if they can be grown under the same conditions. Thanks! Sarah To reply, take off the sweater. |
paphs v. phrags
phrags generally like more water. some paphs like more light, some less. I
grow them in the same greenhouse. In the winter I water the paphs once a week or so, the phrags just about every day. In the summer the phrags sit in a saucer of water and get watered daily, the paphs 2 or more times a week, depending on the weather. I live in Seattle - we get full sun for 3 months of the year, for the rest it's mostly overcast :( "Cardigan" wrote in message t... Hi everyone! How do paphs and phrags compare as to cultivation? paphs v. phrags
I grow mine pretty much the same, with the follwing caveats: though in
the same medium, phrags go one pot size up from what I'd put the same-sized paph in, and the phrags all get the light level I give the highher-liught strap-leafed paphs, cattrleya light levels, whereas the lower-light paphs get somewhat less light. The pot-size thing lets me keep the phrags slightly more moist. Of course, none of the paphs or phrags evers drie out (well, at least, that's the plan!) I love your email name/signature line gimmick!! (remove sweater) LOL!!! |
