Oozing from palenopsis

There is a small pin size place on one leaf edge of my palenopsis that is
oozing a sticky substance. I wipe it every day with alcohol but it
continues to ooze a very small drop of this substance. Does anyone know
what is happening here? Thanks.

Oozing from palenopsis

It's probably what many of us refer to as "honeydew", a sweet, sticky
substance naturally secreted by the plants. It is often theorized (I have
no idea if we know this for sure) that it is part of the pollinator
attraction mechanism of the plant.

For sure, it seems to occur most often in plants that are well grown and
happy.
