Default Clear pots for orchids

Is there any real advantage in growing orchids in clear pots? So far, all my orchids seem to be doing very well without. TIA.

I believe clear pots are promoted on two fronts - to allow the roots to photosynthesize and to allow you to keep an eye on the roots & compost.

In practice, algae & moss growth soon puts a stop to any such advantage altogether. Putting a clear pot inside a black pot does allow you to keep an eye on the roots and compost though.
