Phrags have gotten it together
 

I am so thrilled. I have 5 phrags with buds, one of them has 3 buds
and one is currently in bloom. Until now, I think only one had
bloomed.

A paph is also in bud that hadn't previously bloomed. It was
purchased as a seedling about 6 years ago, maybe longer. It is now
starting its 3rd growth. Got to take some more pictures.

Weather has been beautiful for the last week. Hope winter weather is
over. Most of the cyms have bloomed and are outside enjoying the
fresh air. They sure won't want to be dragged inside again. The
plant room is open to the breezes.

Congrats on the Phrags, Nancy. I'm waiting on my only one - Court
Jester - but it's got a while to go yet, I think. It's only got two
growths ... the original and one new one. I'm patient. g

I am luckier with Paphs. I have four. Two no ID 'rescues', a Maudiae
type and Paph. primulinum. I've had P. prinulinum for about two years
(maybe three) and it still has only the original one growth, although
that has grown four new leaves in that time
span. I'm not sure why it's so slow. The Maudiae type has flowered
twice and put out 3 new growths in about two years. One of the no
ID's has flowered twice (kind of a purple tone) and has four growths
and the other noID has been with me for about 6 months - it's still
deciding if it like my house or not - g
My big exciting news is from Laelia fidilensis. It looks like it is
going to flower from five pseudobulbs - three that matured over last
summer and two that started last summer. This is only the second time
it's had flowers, and this time there are ten buds on each
inflorescence from the bigger pseudobulbs! The smaller ps'bulbs
aren't far enough along to count buds yet.
I would never have thought to buy a Laelia, expecting them to need a
cool, sunny winter rest. I grow my plants in a windowsill, and
usually the temps don't go below 60F in winter. Never mind the sunny
part.
The Phrag I only brought because my wife likes the flower too, so
figured we could share that one.
