I just ordered fertilizer. What cost around $20 a bag last time I order is
currently well over $40. I guess I will not be feeding as much for a while. Pat |

What's the alternative? It's not that much of an issue for us, with only 300
+/- plants, but it must be a killer for the commercial folks. Guess the price of orchids will go up as well. Diana "K Barrett" wrote in message . .. "Robert Lorenzini" wrote in message ... There is a MAJOR shortage of mono potassium phosphate out there right now.
Fortunatly i stockpiled a 1000kilos of it just in case. Our wholesale cost of fert. is up at least 25% this year alone and we have been sheilded from the worst of it by the Canadian dollar astronomical rise( or the US Dollar crash, which ever way u want to look at it.) But inflation is only 2%. The G says so,so it MUST be true. "Pat Brennan" wrote in message g.com... I just ordered fertilizer. What cost around $20 a bag last time I order is currently well over $40. Just be sure you compost any manure you use. The last thing you need is to
be the source for an E coli or salmonella outbreak. No matter what the (now deceased) idiot from Tasmania said. The USA just ain't that filthy anymore. In one of my former lives, I used to spend about a month and half a year
(usually two 3-4 week trips) in China, back before the Brits gave back Hong Kong. While there were some odd things by my standards, I thoroughly enjoyed the food, lost weight while eating and drinking to excess, but had gut problems once I got back to the greasier foods here. To this day - and it's been 20 years - I still cannot stand most places' notion of "Chinese food" in this country - outside of SFO and NYC, that is. -- Ray Barkalow - First Rays Orchids - www.firstrays.com Plants, Supplies.
