The Federal Register of May 9th outlines a proposal to allow Taiwanese
growers to export Phalaenopsis in approved growing media to the United
States without the normal bare-rooting procedures. The approval would be
limited to Taiwan and to the genus Phalaenopsis. I do not see anywhere in
the proposal any restrictions on the size of plants allowed in. We have been
contacted by concerned member/commercial phalaenopsis growers and would like
to hear from any member who feels their business will be impacted either
negatively or positively by this proposal. Submissions must be made by June

I Copied this from the AOS Forum and thought folks here should know about
this too. There was some talk about this ~3 yrs ago. I had thought it was
dropped with the change in administrations. I guess not.
