When will phal keikis develop roots?
I have several plants with keikis. The dends' keikis have developed roots,
and the phals' keikis haven't. I find this curious since the dend keikis are much smaller than the mature growth they're on, and yet even though one of the phal keikis is as large as a first bloom seedling I bought a few months ago, and yet hasn't even begun even one root. Is this normal for phals? Cheers, Ted |
When will phal keikis develop roots?
Ted,
Each plant seems to have it's own schedule. I have a phal now that has a tiny root knub on the keiki and it still hasn't sent out leaves while I have a couple of equetris that have fully formed leaves but no sign of roots. I had a hieroglyphica that seemed reluctant to form roots. I took a single long strand of moss and a thin wire and wrapped it under the keiki. This gave the plantlet a bit of humidity. In a month a root formed. Did the moss help? I don't know but I do have a root now. Good growing, Gene "Ted Byers" wrote in message ... I have several plants with keikis.
