Default new cattleya orchid

just got some new seedlings. the tag says "epc laser blue chaos"
orchid. One of the other pots had "elc laser blue chaos". I know
it's a cattleya of some kind but what are the other letters that are
in there? There are 3 seedling, ranging from 1 to 3 inches. How long
will it take before they blossom?

Janice,

epc = epidendrum x cattleya. Commonly called epicat.
elc = epidendrum x laelia x cattleya.

They will flower in 3 to 4 years.

Janice, in addition to what Mick said, you'll have to go back to the grower
and find out if your plant is a cross of the 3 genera (epidendrum x laelia x
cattleya) or if its a cross of the two genera (epidendrum x cattleya).

I looked up the name 'Laser Blue Chaos' and don't see it registered, but my
version of Wildcatt is old. There may be more current info on teh RHS
database (do a google search)
