I have a D. kingianum which was badly sunburnt a year and a half ago. It
has since been growing like wildfire in a 1 gal. pot, and replaced all the
sunburnt leaves, but the problem is that it's growing mostly keikis, with
only 3-4 blooms from time to time. It has had good sun exposure in my GH,
and I use 1/2 strength Schultz orchid fertilizer every other watering.
Any ideas on how I can encourage more profuse bloom?

Remove the Keiki's? Perhaps it's putting all it's energy into making babies
instead of flowering?

So that's what is why my Den. kingianum has never bloomed. Will have to
put it outside when temps drop.

"VERY" cold is rather relative. I pur mine through a rather dry (never dried
out) and very cool 40-50 degree F winter. Check out the link for the
results. I understand they can tolerate mid 20's but I've never tried it.

Well the encyclpoaedia project is ongoing but on a slow simmer until I can

Where they grow here in Australia, they get snow over them in the winter..

But there is a difference in Snow and Frost. Something can just
get blanketed by snow and thus insulated from falling temp.
while some dry Frost can get so cold as to turn leaves black.
