Hi Jim, Not an orchid but I know it as Silver Quill from S.Africa. Scilla
violacea,
Name has been changed to Ledebouria.........

Guess the place I bought it from has it wrongly labelled.. And if
information on the link you gave me is correct I can 'push' it outside
in the summer here in London
