I have read someone using a mineral called Arcillite for potting
medium,anyone have any experience using this?

Arcillite - if I remember correctly - is calcined clay of some sort
(montmorillonite?). Sort of like fired kitty litter.

I suspect it would pack too densely and not allow enough air flow to the
roots if used alone, although it might be a good substitute for fine
diatomite in mixes.
