Teeny tiny bugs

Recently found loads of teeny, tiny bugs milling about in my orchids
and on the window sills around my orchid pots. This is a very sudden
appearance as there was no sign of them just 5-7 days ago when I last
watered. The bugs are very small and are able to hop around. HELP!!!
What are they and what can I do to get rid of them??

When did you last repot? What do these bugs look like? Do they fly, or just
'hop'?

Springtails or Soil mites are my guesses, neither do any harm. They mostly
are noticable when watering. They live on organic matter in the soil.

I have about a dozen orchids. Re-potted most of them recently (within
the last 6 weeks). Did not re-pot a few of my newer orchids. Bugs
are brown, and very, very small. They do seem to be able to fly.

That was my thought too. They seem to be most prevalent when there is some
decayed matter, as far as I know.
