Aerial roots??
 

hello evryone!

My Phal. Baldan`s kaleidoscope is spiking now but the plant is kind of
hanging out of the pot so it developped lots of aerial roots.
I was thinking to repot it when it will be finished blooming but I was
wondering if I can safely cut aerial roots even though they are healthy and
plump and not dry!

Don't do it! Leave them alone and splash water/fertilizer on them when you
water. A healthy root system is one key to successful orchids.

don't burry them either. They grew out side the pot try to leave
them outside unless all the roots are so bad only the aerial
roots are there to support the plant and keep it in the pot.

These are normal and should be left alone. It's actually quite interesting
watching the roots grow!

Here's another aspect to consider: phals are epiphytes. In the natural
growing conditions, essentially all of the roots are aerial!

with a little spag under it. Mount sideways and spritz as needed. You'll
never see crown rot!

I disagree.

I find it's better to put the roots up against the bark mount, and put the
sphagnum OVER them. I've seen way too many plants sitting on that pad of
moss that never grab the mount.
