Also noticed that my Dend Speciosum has disappeared after a visit from the
lawn guys. I've noticed that they try to blow over as many pots as possible
and don't bother to pick them up.

If they are spraying your lawn your apt to loose all the plants
anyway. A friend had his collection in a shade house, behind a
locked fence. They only sprayed the front yard and it cost his
almost 1/3 of the collection. They were scheduled over on the
next street not at his house, it cost their boss a pretty penny
too.

Wow! We have our lawn sprayed every 6 weeks, and they come into close
proximity to the orchids. No problem here.

These guys don't spray anything, they just mow, edge and weed and then use a
leaf bower sort of. Once in awhile they trim the front hedge again sort of.
They've mowed my iris and amaryllis bed and the pink lilies in the back. In
bloom. Not the sharpest tools in the shed. They probably blew the dend
speciosum into the neighbors yard.

I like to use orange guard, usually in the evening after any watering. The
plants inside don't have any problems right now other than needing more
light. Hopefully I can move my plant table into the front computer room
soon since my folks are selling the huge organ in there (hooray)

yeah, the lawn guys hired by the complex where i live came real close to
owing me a double delight rosebush (plus the labor to plant it) one
year...

if i had an amaryllis bed, and someone mowed it, i'd go after them with
my new pickaxe...

Fortunately my amaryllis had naturalised in the spot and came back or I'd
have a whole new bed. Now I've noticed they like to pile up leaves and
trash in the corner where my plant shelves are.
