"Bagged" phal - update

I took the advice of the others and "bagged" my phalaeonopsis orchid.
It would seem that, within the space of 48 hours, an air root is now
visible where it wasn't before. Does this make sense? Can the root
system regenerate this rapidly? And how will I know when the root
system has fully regenerated itself?

I doubt that orchids can respond that fast - the root was probably
growing long before you decided to bag it. As for when one may consider
it fully recovered....well, it depends on what you mean fully. If you
mean an extensive root system like before, well it may take years. I
mean, if the plant was 5 years old when you bought it, it won't
completely recover in 2 months. But if you're wondering when can you
treat it like a 'normal' plant again, well, I'd say at least until you
have 5-10 inches of total root. Then you can repot it into whatever
medium you normally use.

Cheers,
Xi
