HOW LONG BEFORE THEY DIE?

Question;
I had a dendroium that was sprouting ariel roots at a node. Small leaves were
gowing at the node. I cut off the growing portion at the internode below the
roots and potted it in a bark medium.It is now one week later and the leaves
are still green. I also cut off section of "stalk" between nodes and potted
that also. So far no sign of death. How long before I see a dying plant?

Hi Bob, The rest of your life (if you take proper care of it (them).
Dendrobiums are virtually "kill proof". You can take a live cane off
the plant & lay it on something moisture retentive & get maybe 10
plantlets from it. It will even keep producing plantlets after you
remove the first batch. Have fun, Bill
