HOW LONG BEORE MY CUTTINGS DIE?
 

My dendrbium sprouted aireal roots at a node with some leaves (2) also. I cut
off the section with the roots and leaves between the roots and the node below.
This was potted in bark about 1 week ago. The leaves are still green and the
roots look healthy. How long before the whole thing dies?

Sounds like you have a keiki there (baby plant, not uncommon. Some of my
Dends do it all the time.).

Bob, I might add that the next time you want to use a keiki to start a
new plant, you don't have to cut a chunk off the original cane. Just
leave the keiki growing where it is until the leaves AND roots are big
enough to be self supporting. If in doubt, just leave it there longer.
When the time comes, you can twist off the new plant or carefully cut it
off. Leave the old canes when you can because many Dendrobiums can
produce flowers on them in the future.
