Cattleya and Dendrobium Question
 

Will a Cattleya ever bloom more than once from the same pseudobulb ? Will a
dendrobium ?

Cattleyas only bloom once from a pseudobulb. Some Dendrobiums may bloom
more than once from a pseudobulb. There are many different types of
Dendrobiums, they probably don't all flower again from the old pseudobulbs.

Cattleyas only bloom once from a pseudobulb. Some Dendrobiums may bloom

The general rule of thumb for Dendrobiums (there are exceptions) is
that they will only bloom, keiki or develop in some way one time at
each node. Some nodes will not develop the first year but will in a
subsequent season, or maybe never. Den's have such a wide variety of
blooming and growth habits that it is hard to be too specific about
them.

i agree, it all depends on the type. I have a Dendrobium Northmead x Riverdean croos that has 23 flower stems this year (all previous years only 5-8 at once) most flower stems are coming from sites where there have been previous ones, which is common in Kingianum/Speciosum types, however phal. types will generally only flower once per node.
