Identification of an Orchid
 

Hi, I rencently bought 2 orchids. The one is a Brassia Rex and another Orchid that doesn't have a name tag (picture attached). Could anyone tell me what it is please and how to care for it. It has wilted dreadfully and appears to be dying and I'm quiet alarmed and at a loss of what to do.

You sure it is an orchid? Looks more like an amaryllis to me... Maybe
a better picture would help. We aren't going to be identify it without
a tag, but perhaps we could come close enough to help you keep it alive.

That's an amaryllis, not an orchid. It grows from a bulb.

Well wait a minute, the flowers look like amaryllis to me too but where
is the thick stem? Why does one flower seem to be coming from higher up?
With an amaryllis all the flowers come from the very top.

The stem is there, though it isn't very big. I think the fact that it
closely parallels the center post of the window frame makes it look
atypical The strap-like leaves are also partially visible. I have a
number of amarylises. Sometimes the flowers are staggered a bit; it
depends on the variety, light, conditions, etc. It certainly isn't an
orchid.

we have alot of those this side of the atlantic, its a cross between amaryllis and nerine

It could be a lily! Certainly not an orchid!
