Dendrobium is loosing leaves
 

My Drendrobium is of Phalaenopsis type. When it came from the shop it was bloomed and having healthy deep green leaves from bottom to top as well as three keikis. After more than a week without problems, it started loosing the leaves of the keikis and after that, one, by one the inferior leaves of the main plant. They start getting progresively yelow and after a few days, they are done, step by step as if the yellow is ascending the stairs. I would say that light conditions of my room are ok. The humidity is from 60 to 73%. The temperature from 55 some nights to 75. I have a several orchids in the same room that do not show any problem (1 Phal, 1 Vanda, 2 Oncidiums, 1 Cymbidium, 1 Miltonia and and 1 Cambria.).

I don't know what is going wrong with the Dendrobium, and if that leave dropping will end. ¿any ideas?

Hi Caparazon,

It may be that it it is a nobile type of dendrobium that will
automatically lose its leaves and then bloom the next year where the
leaves were lost on the cane. So, I would not get too upset just yet
provided that the plant does not display rot or other types of problems.

Is it possible it has been overwatered?I would check the roots first to see
if they are healthy,not brown & mushy.Too much & too little water can cause
the plant to loose leaves .Mostly with orchids it is too much water.

I have carefully checked the roots, and they are O.K.

So it seems that the only issues are either my plant is of that variety that naturally looses the leaves (but how was it kept with all leaves at the greenhouse?), or the temperature is killing it. If it is the first option: Will all leaves fall, or will the two top one remain? , Will new leaves grow where the old ones were?

Can you post a picture of the plant to ABPO or a link ?Even better a picture
of it when it was in flower.
You really need to know what type it is?
Failing that keep an eye on it and see what happens.
Den phals like it warmer.Nobile types are cool growers and do loose leaves
even though mine haven't yet & I don't think they will.

Nice colours,is it potted in bark it looks very much like it is potted in
soil?If I were you start another post with the attachment asking for a plant
