Default Chinch bugs - How to get rid of them?

We have them in our front yard and they are destroying the St. Augustine grass; should we take that grass up and put out Centipede or is there a spray or something to use to get rid
of them? We are 25 miles from the coast of NC in Jacksonville....very hot and humid.

Thanks for any suggestions you can give.
