Default Baldcypress

Hello,

While perusing a website on Indiana's flora, I came across this tree
whose fruit looks very interesting (Baldcypress) and I was wondering
if any being can even consume its fruit (after the extinction of the
Carolina Parakeet). If not, isn't this tree in danger of extinction
too if its seeds don't get displaced far from their traditional site?

Thank you
