Default Transmitting Science courses on Scientific Illustration

Transmitting Science is offering two= courses on Scientific
Illustration:

- INTRODUCTION TO THE ART = OF SCIENCE: SCIENTIFIC ILLUSTRATION -
3^rd ed. November 11th-15th, 2019, Barcelona (Spain).

Instructor= : Julianne Snider (Earth and Mineral Sciences Museum & Art
Gallery, USA= ).

This is an introductory course focused on drawing and the differen= t
techniques. This course is designed to help scientists, science
communica= tors, artists, and adults interested in natural history
develop the observa= tion skills and drawing skills they need to
record, distill, and visually c= ommunicate observations made of
natural history objects and organisms. Trad= itional scientific
illustration techniques as well as the history, signific= ance,
status, and future directions of scientific illustration will be expl ored in this hands-on studio-style course.

* NATURALISTIC AND SCIENTIFIC ILLUSTRATION R= 11; 4th ed. September
23rd-27th, 2019, Crete (Greece).

Instruct= or: Oscar Sanisidro (Kansas University, USA)

This course offers a bro= ad introduction to scientific illustration
applied to Biological Sciences. = It is also intended to give a
hands-on overview of the most current technol= ogical advances in the
field, such as basic computer graphics applied to sc= ience
illustration and 3D modelling. The course will be focused on how to t ranslate traditional drawings into an improved digital version. It is
of:-)= 60;intermediate level, some basic experience with illustration
is strongly = recommended.
