The text for the advert is as below:

An innovative Molecular Mycologist/Molecular Biologist is required to join
the Professor Gary Foster/Dr Andy Bailey research group looking at the
interactions between the mycopathogen Verticillium fungicola and the
cultivated mushroom, Agaricus bisporus, on a 18 month post funded by DEFRA.
The UK has a significant role not only in mushroom production but also in
mushroom science. Verticillium is potentially the largest threat to
mushroom production in the UK. The aim of this project is to identify
pathogen genes involved in the Verticillium-Agaricus interaction and begin
to investigate function. The work described in this proposal will benefit
the science used in understanding mushroom biology and pathology that will
eventually filter through to improvements in production and disease control=
..

This project is part of an ongoing and higly successful collaboration with
Horticulture Research International, with close links with Professor Peter
Mills and Dr Mike Challen. You should have a PhD and expertise in the
relevant techniques. You will need to have good organisational skills, be
reliable and approachable, with good communication skills. You must be a
willing team player but with an ability to be proactive and work
independently. The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
experience of cDNA library production and screening, and/or gene knock-out,
experience of molecular biology, cell biology and/or development, gene
expression and analysis, experience of fluorescence microscopy, and any
other knowledge or experience relevant to the project.
