This looks like a double-flowered flowering cherry. Compare with photos at:

There are probably multiple cultivars with pink flowers like this, but I
know that 'Kwanzan" is one popular one. There are also types with white
flowers.

She is absolutely correct. Remember that most "stone" fruits,
including cherry, apricot, plum, etc., are particularly suseptible to
borers, so plan a schedule as soon as planted. Ocassionally, I have
noticed that a tree may grow for 30 years and never see a borer, and
others succumb the second year. Go figure! Bob
