ID requested of a Solanum
Can somebody suggest an ID for this dainty species of (presumably)
Solanum? http://www.box.net/shared/static/44y1d6r8qe.jpg It came from a packet of seeds of geographically unspecifed "flowers of the meadow". |

Yes, it's Solanaceae, but not a _Solanum_. Looks like it may well be _Nicandra physalodes_: http://images.google.com/images?as_q=nicandra It will eventually become a much larger, rather coarser plant than your dainty youngster. The fruits are interesting. It wouldn't seem an obvious choice for a "meadow wildflower". cheers |
