Default Madagascar

Madagascar which has two dozen endemic Solanum spp, but was separated from
Africa and the rest of Gondwanaland before the development of flowering plants.

In that case, how did they get to Madagascar, & how come the island has so many
endemic plants & animals found nowhere else?
