Default Gluten's effect on insects, birds, and animals

Hi, all

Gluten is known to cause celiac disease(CD) in some humans, because it will
cause auto-immune response in those men's small intestine. Some plants(like
wheat)'s seed contain gluten.

Wheat is somewhat unusual among plants. Its seed has significantly higher
percentage of protein than many other plants' seed. Part of the protein
contain gluten. In evolutionary angle, it make me wonder if gluten is
harmful to some insects, birds, and animals, too.

Any ideas or references?

Thx in adv.
